How the Counter Works
This tool provides a quick way to get basic statistics about your text. Simply paste your text into the box above and click "Calculate Counts". Here's what it calculates:
- Characters (with spaces): Counts every single character in the text box, including spaces, punctuation, and line breaks.
- Characters (no spaces): Counts all characters except for whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines).
- Words: Counts sequences of characters separated by whitespace. It handles multiple spaces between words correctly.
- Lines: Counts the number of lines based on the newline character (
\n). Even an empty line is counted if it exists.
This is useful for checking length requirements for social media posts, SEO meta descriptions, academic abstracts, or any situation where text length matters.
